Sleeping Bears Wake Up

I've realized that to maintain this blog with any kind of regularity, I've got to find something fairly consistent to write about. I'd attempted to write about different issues in popular music, but eventually tired out. You'd think that something I think about constantly would be easy to write about it a blog, but it just made my obsession with music even more of a burden. So as I sit here enjoying a brief afternoon thunderstorm and downpour, I've begun Sleeping Bears again with a different purpose: to catalog different places and experiences around Western Massachusetts and New England, from bowling alleys to hiking spots, to music venues to farms--and maybe occasionally a good soundtrack to keep with you as you travel. Pictured here to get things started is a red-winged blackbird, a bird that I'd never seen once in my life (to my knowledge) until I lived in Illinois, but which I see almost every day here in the Valley, swooping in front of my car as I drive between the farms.
